Elisha the prophet had what appears to have been an out-of-body experience after he healed a Syrian commander, Naaman, of a skin disease.
Naaman brought gifts for Elisha – 10 sets of clothing, 340 kilograms of silver and 68 kilograms of gold. Elisha politely refused the gift, and Naaman left.
Elisha’s servant, Gehazi, saw an opportunity to profit from the prophet. He caught up with Naaman on the road and said Elisha had changed his mind. He said that the prophet would accept 34 kilograms of silver and two sets of clothing.
When Gehazi got home, Elisha told him, “Don’t you realize that I was there in spirit when Naaman stepped down from his chariot to meet you?” (2 Kings 5:26).
Gehazi left the room with skin flaked white in leprosy.

Raiders from what is now Jordan invaded Israel each spring to steal the harvest. These raiders stormed into one field just as some Jews were burying a man.
This was sometime after the prophet Elisha had died and was buried nearby.
Quickly the burial party tossed the corpse into Elisha’s tomb and took off running for their lives.
The dead man joined them. “As soon as the body touched Elisha’s bones, the dead man revived and jumped to his feet!” (2 Kings 13:21).
