An internal security operation conducted by two units of the Catanduanes police led to the recovery of a rifle grenade near a derelict house in Codon, San Andres last Sunday morning.
In its report, the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office said that the joint operation of San Andres police personnel led by police chief PMaj. Francis T. Tabo I and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company 3rd Platoon led by PCpt. Leo S. Templonuevo was clearing the area at sitio Pagatpatan when PSSg Joseph dela Torre recovered the explosive at a grassy portion near an abandoned, ruined house at 11:15 AM of Aug. 10, 2025.
The grenade was initially placed under the custody of San Andres MPS before it was subsequently turned over to the Provincial Explosive and Canine Unit (PECU) for proper disposition.
