Maltreated carabao gores San Miguel farmer to death

A farmer in San Miguel reportedly died last week after being severely wounded by his own enraged carabao in barangay Patagan Salvacion.

A source at the local government unit said that prior to the incident, the victim, whom he identified as one Jose Marino, was chased by his beast of burden whom he allegedly struck on the face.

On Dec. 16, 2020 at about 4 P.M., the farmer repeatedly hit the carabao, which apparently became enraged and gored Marino in the groin, threw him up into the air and then gored him again with his horns on the chest, causing his intestines to spill out.

He was rushed to the provincial hospital by responding rescue personnel but allegedly died on the way.

The carabao was later sold for P50,000 to a Virac meat vendor.
