Police personnel of Caramoran are following up leads that they hope would lead to the identification of arrest of four suspected illegal fishermen who got away from a seaborne patrol and managed to escape after hurriedly docking on the short of Sitio Palumbanes last week.
The report stated that elements of town police led by Capt. Ariel Buraga were conducting a seaborne operation against illegal fishing activity at the municipal waters of Caramoran at 4 P.M. of Jan. 8, 2020 when they spotted a violet- and green-colored motorized banca with four (4) unidentified fishermen onboard.
As the seaborne team approached and tried to flag down the fishermen, the latter’s motorized banca suddenly accelerated and docked along the shoreline of Bakhaw area of sitio Palumbanes in barangay Toytoy.
The fleeing suspects left behind the motorized banca, which when found contained a bottle containing suspected sodium cyanide (“sosa”), a compressor engine, compressor tank, four rolls of compressor hose, two improvised diving fins; a roll of orange nylon rope with attached Styrofoam, a roll of blue nylon rope, lead sinker, pump belt, a container of water and an empty container.
