A resident of San Andres yielded P126,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Catanduanes police last July 24, 2026 in barangay Timbaan.
The report of the San Andres Municipal Police Station identified the alleged drug pusher only as “Banjo” but a reliable source gave his name as one Archie Cea Ramirez, single and a resident of Timbaan.
Elements of the Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit (CatPIU), Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU), Virac MPS, San Andres MPS and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the operation against the suspect that went down at 12:20 PM.
Confiscated from Ramirez were two sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride which he sold to a police officer posing as a drug user.
A search also turned up 26 other sachets with the same substance, with the drug hail weighing an estimated 18 grams and worth P126,000 on the street.
Non-drug items were also found in his person, including the genuine P500 bill and 25 pieces of counterfeit P500 bills used as buy-bust money, as well as an iPhone.
Ramirez will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, for the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
