The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Catanduanes recently donated narra lumber to the Catanduanes National High School in Virac for use in the fabrication of essential school furniture.
Done in support of improving educational facilities and promoting the sustainable utilization of forest resources, the donation was formalized last April 8, 2026 at the PENRO office in San Isidro Village where OIC-PENR Officer Atty. Vivian D. Escoto and CNHS Principal Amelia R. Eusebio signed the Deed of Donation.
Known for its durability and high quality, the 29 pieces of narra lumber with a total volume of 617 board feet, will be utilized for the fabrication of essential school furniture, including conference tables and workstations for teachers and students, and other fixtures.
These materials are expected to significantly enhance the learning environment by providing more functional and durable equipment for both students and teaching personnel.
This initiative forms part of PENRO Catanduanes’ continuing efforts to ensure that confiscated or available forest products are put to beneficial use through proper disposition, in accordance with existing forestry laws, rules, and regulations. At the same time, it reflects the office’s commitment to supporting the education sector and contributing to the overall well-being of communities in the province.
