A complaint for frustrated parricide has been filed against a resident of Panganiban town after hacking his own son during an altercation last week.
The Panganiban police station said last Friday that it has filed the criminal complaint against Dennis Maitim Fulton, 48, a widower and resident of sitio Paraiso in barangay Cabuyoan.
According to the report of the Panganiban MPS, a quarrel erupted between the suspect and his son, Dennil Jhon Tala Fulton, 25, an abaca stripper, at about 2 PM of Oct. 30, 2022.
While holding a 24-inch long bolo (manasbad), the elder Fulton allegedly challenged his son to a fight but the latter chose to avoid a confrontation and decided to go out of the house.
But as he went out, his father hacked him at the back and at the left arm, resulting in blood flowing profusely from the wounds.
The report said that Dennis chased his son until they reached the road where they were pacified by relatives and a member of the barangay council.
The victim was immediately brought to the Viga district hospital for immediate medical treatment and then transferred to the Eastern Bicol Medical Center where he is recuperating from the wounds and the considerable loss of blood.
His father was arrested by responding personnel of the Panganiban police and was detained while the criminal complaint for frustrated parricide was being prepared.
