Construction worker nabbed in Virac buy-bust operation

Joint elements of the Virac police station’s Drug Enforcement Unit and the Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit arrested a construction worker in a buy-bust operation last Sept. 11, 2022.

The suspect, a resident of San Isidro Village identified by the police only as “Andy,” allegedly sold a small sachet of suspected shabu for P500 to an undercover police officer at around 7:45 PM.

As soon as the poseur-buyer signaled that the transaction was completed, other members of the team who were in the vicinity rushed in to arrest the suspect, who yielded the buy-bust money and a gray Kawasaki Fury motorcycle with plate number 3091 IY.

The suspect is now under custody of the Virac police station pending the filing of a criminal charge against him for the sale of dangerous drugs in violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
