The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will conduct the April 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) in the province of Catanduanes.
A total of twenty-nine (29) sample barangays with three hundred seventeen (317) sample households will be interviewed in the province by Statistical Researchers on 8-30 April 2022.
The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide quarterly and monthly survey of households conducted to collect data on the population’s demographic and socioeconomic characteristics.
It provides up-to-date information on the country’s labor force and its characteristics, with the goal of developing a quantitative framework for the development of labor-market plans and policies.
Rider questions for PhilSys were also included for this survey round of LFS.
The results of February 2022 LFS shows that the country’s preliminary Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) was registered at 63.8% percent, 3.3% higher than the previous month at 60.5%.
Employment rate for February 2022 remained at 93.6% while unemployment rate also remained at 6.4% as reported in the last month.
Underemployment Rate was registered at 14.0%, slightly lowered by 0.9% compared to 14.9% registered for January 2022.
In contrast to the previous year’s results, February 2022 round increased in LFPR as well as in the Employment Rate.
Hence, Underemployment rate and Unemployment rate decreases in percent compared to February 2021.
The PSA assures its respondents that all information collected from them shall be kept strictly confidential. Section 26 of Republic Act 10625 stipulates that individual data furnished by the respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys and censuses of the PSA shall be considered as privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
The PSA may release data gathered from surveys and censuses only in the form of summaries or statistical tables, in which no reference to an individual, corporation, association, partnership, institution or business enterprise shall appear.
