NPA guerilla killed in Bagamanoc encounter

A communist guerilla was killed in a clash with government troops last Sunday evening, Jan. 9, 2022, in
barangay Hinipaan, Bagamanoc.
The sketchy report stated that at about 7:30 PM that night, joint elements of the Catanduanes 2 nd Police
Mobile Force Company led by force commander Maj. Joseph Abel Jarabejo, the Catanduanes Police
Intelligence Unit and the 97 th Military Intelligence Company, 9MIB, 9ID, PA, encountered more or less 10
members of the New People’s Army (NPA), triggering a firefight that resulted in the instantaneous death
of one on the enemy side and none among the government troops.
Recovered at the site after the clash were a carbine with inserted magazine, a Cal. 45 pistol with inserted
magazine, an Improvised Explosive Device, electric cord, a backpack, a Cherrymobile phone, a Baofen
handheld radio and subversive documents.
