THE ABACA BUYING HUB at the Capitol Convention Center reopens tomorrow, Oct. 29, 2026, almost two weeks after it began purchasing quality fiber from selected abaca farmers at P110 per kilo, or about P30 higher than prevailing prices at local abaca traders. A total of 119.7 kilos of grade I fiber was purchase from members of the Caramoran Abaca Farmers Producers Cooperative (CAFPCO). The Provincial Agricultural Services Office (PASO) consulted with abaca farmers around the province to identify possible areas where the buying hub would be brought to reduce the transportation costs of farmers.
