Another suspected street-level individual in the illegal drug trade has been arrested by the Catanduanes police in a buy-bust operation in the capital town last week.
Law enforcers from the Virac Municipal Police Station, the Catanduanes Police Intelligence Unit (CatPIU) and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5 (RPDEU 5), under the overall supervision of Chief of Police PMaj. Kenneth Ding C..Gutierrez, apprehended a certain “Boboy,” 36, married, jobless and a resident of Gogon Centro, during the operation conducted Aug. 6, 2026 at about 9 PM.
The suspect, who was identified by a barangay official as one Ralph Ronald Lumbao, yielded several heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of six grams.
Also seized were non-drug items such as a cellphone, coin purse, cash and the motorcycle he used during the transaction with the undercover police officer at nearby Gogon Sirangan.
Based on verified police records in the Crime Information Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS), the suspect had served time in prison for several violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, including the sale, possession, trade, administration, dispensation, distribution and transportation of dangerous drugs.
The Virac MPS continues to heighten the campaign against illegal drugs as part of the peace and order program in Catanduanes pursuant to the directive of Gov. Patrick Alain T. Azanza and with the support of Mayor Sinforoso M. Sarmiento Jr.
