Bato family, couple, other groups help renovate BMCH male ward

Health services at the Bato Maternity and Children’s Hospital received a significant upgrade last week with the turnover of its renovated Male Ward, courtesy of a prominent Bato family, a couple from Virac, and three groups in a joint effort.

The ceremonial blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the hospital was attended by generous donors Atty. Santiago T. Gabionza Jr. and family, Mr. and Mrs. Michael V. Tan, Catanduanes Institute Class 1973, Catanduanes Island Masonic Lodge No. 291, and Bato Central Elementary School Class 1969.

During the turnover, Supervising Administrative Officer Remelito S. Cabrera, who represented Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza, underscored the latter’s mantra that “Health is Everything” and emphasized the commitment of the provincial government to continuously improve healthcare facilities and services across the province.

In conveying the chief executive’s gratitude to the donors for their generosity, Cabrera expressed hope that more individuals and organizations would partner with the PLGU in initiatives that advance the welfare of Catandunganons.

Speaking for the donors, Atty. Gabionza said that he had long hoped for a public official who would prioritize healthcare and the well-being of Catandunganons, appreciating the governor’s commitment to improving the island’s healthcare system.

He shared that when Azanza sought support for the renovation of Bato’s only hospital, they readily extended assistance to help realize the project.
