The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)’s efforts to reinforce the implementation of the National ID System has been complemented by its integration with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), enhancing the delivery of social protection services across the country.
The integration enables PhilHealth to utilize the National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) through its PhilHealth Check Utility (PCU), a digital identity verification tool using biometric authentication.
This development ensures accurate member identification, eliminates duplicate records, reduces fraud, and guarantees that benefits reach the rightful beneficiaries.
Aligned with this initiative, PSA Catanduanes participated in the Sabayang YAKAP program of PhilHealth during the celebration of Labor Day, May 1, 2026 at Virac Town Center’s Metrowalk.
The activity aimed to bring essential government services closer to the public, particularly to workers and underserved sectors.
As part of the event, PSA Catanduanes conducted a National ID Mobile Registration and National ID (in paper) issuance, supporting the colocation initiative between PSA and PhilHealth.
This partnership allows National ID services to be delivered directly within PhilHealth service points, creating a more accessible and convenient “one-stop shop” for the public.
The Sabayang YAKAP initiative highlights PhilHealth’s commitment to expanding healthcare access, while the integration with the National ID system ensures a more inclusive, efficient, and secure service delivery for all Filipinos.
For institutions interested in partnering with the National ID System, coordination may be made through the PSA via spucd@psa.gov.ph (social protection sector) or fpsucd@psa.gov.ph (financial and private sector).
