70-year-old farmer nabbed over Masbate abuse case

Personnel of the Virac police station and the Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG) Provincial Field Unit collared a 70-year-old farmer in Valencia, Virac over a case for emotional and psychological abuse filed recently in Masbate City.

Angeles Alano Tolero was named as the accused in Criminal Case No. 23818 for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.

He will be brought to Masbate City to the sala of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 48 Assisting Judge John Martin Hao Sese, who set the bail for his provisional liberty at P72,000.00.

In San Andres town, a jobless resident of Batong Paloway is now in police custody following his Aug. 22, 2025 arrest in connection with a case for murder filed before the Virac RTC.

Marco Bilan Somido, 19, was apprehended on the basis of a warrant issued by RTC Branch 42 Acting Presiding Judge Ritche Reyes Regala under Criminal Case No. 11567 with no bail set for the temporary liberty of the accused.

Also brought to the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Pandan-Caramoran was Jaime Angulo de Quiroz, 72, a farmer from Tariwara.

He is facing a criminal rap for slight physical injuries under Criminal Case 2024-P-3896 before the sale of Presiding Judge Cecila Maria Rosario M. Arce-Galicia. Bail for the offense has been set at P4,000.
