The Catanduanes Police Provincial Office (CATPPO) received five top awards last week during the culminating ceremony of the Police Regional Office 5’s celebration of the Police Community Relations (PCR) Month this July 2025.
On behalf of the local police, Provincial Director PCol. Elmer R. Cereno accepted the Outstanding Police Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU) Police Provincial Office award, bestowed on the CATPPO for its diverse and effective initiatives and programs that earned the highest rating among all Police Provincial Offices in the region.
The Catanduanes police also placed third in the Community Service Oriented Policing (CSOP) Special Category through its Project ISLA (Isahang Solusyon Laban sa Adiksyon)- a collaborative effort with local government units, stakeholders, and the community, aiming to eradicate illegal drug proliferation in the island province.
Further demonstrating CATPPO’s dedication to grassroots community engagement, the Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) Team of Sagrada, Bagamanoc, was honored as an Outstanding R-PSB Team.
The Bagamanoc Municipal Police Station also secured third place in the CSOP main category for its “Save a Child, Create a Leader” program, with Acting Chief of Police PCpt. Gringo B. Taule receiving the award.
The ceremony also recognized partners in community development, with the Members Church of God International (MCGI) receiving the Best Stakeholder Awardee for its consistent partnership with the PNP in various outreach endeavors. Bro. Emelio Magdaraog, Servant-In-Charge, accepted the award on behalf of MCGI.
These recognitions reflect CATPPO’s dedication to strengthening relations between the PNP and the community, echoing this year’s PCR Month theme: “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka,” said the Camp Francisco Camacho headquarters in its statement.
