Elements of the San Andres police, assisted by lawmen of the Valenzuela City, apprehended an 83-year-old fugitive from justice in the metropolis last week.
Personnel led by PCapt. Francis Tabo I, assistant chief of police of San Andres MPS, together with officers of the Valenzuela CPS Substation 8, nabbed Jaime Bongalbal Reyes, a jobless resident of Block 5, Water Lily St., Hobart Village, Ugong, Valenzuela City, at 5:45 PM of Nov. 28, 2024.
He was collared on the basis of the warrant of arrest issued by then Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 43 Presiding Judge Lelu P. Contreras in August 2020 in connection with Criminal Case No. 7196 for rape with no bail recommended, and Criminal Case No. 7197 for violation of Section 5 (b), Article III of Republic Act 7610 with recommended bail of P200,000.
After being apprised of his constitutional rights, Reyes underwent mandatory physical/medical examinations, booking procedures and is now under the custody of Sub Station 8, Valenzuela CPS for proper disposition prior return from court of origin.
