Virac LGU to offer free issuance of Civil Registry certificates on Feb. 27

In line with the celebration of Civil Registration Month this February, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Virac will offer free issuance of civil registry certifications on February 27, 2024.

The venue of the one-day free issuance of civil registry certificates, such as of birth, death, and marriage, will be in the Municipal Civil Registry Office (MCRO) at the ground floor of the Virac LGU building.

Mayor Samuel V. Laynes encourages Virac residents to take advantage of this free service and reminds them of the duty to register vital acts and events that affect the civil status of individuals.

The mayor also emphasized the importance of civil registration documents in establishing a legal identity that is essential for accessing basic services and transactions with government agencies and private institutions, such as health, education, employment, and social security.

The free issuance of certificates is spearheaded by the Virac Municipal Civil Registry Office in connection with the nationwide observance of the 34th Civil Registration Month this February pursuant to Proclamation No. 682.

Municipal Civil Registrar Rudy T. Bagadiong announced that there will be also mobile registration in selected barangays in Virac.

On Feb. 21, there will be mobile registration of certificates of live birth through the Birth Registration Project (BRP) and the presentation of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) certificates in Barangay Simamla and Sogod Simamla

On Feb. 23, there will be mobile registration of certificates of live birth through the Birth Registration Project (BRP) and awarding of registered local birth certificates in Barangay Dugui Too.

This outreach activity of MCRO aims to make civil registration more accessible and convenient for residents in various localities and, enhance awareness, and appreciation of the legal, administrative, and statistical values of civil registry documents.
