Catanduanes’ No. 8 Most Wanted Person nabbed

Personnel of the Bato municipal police station and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Catanduanes last week collared the island’s No. 8 Most Wanted Person.
In a manhunt operation, the law enforcers arrested the suspect, which the report identified only as “Ron,” 42, a construction worker from barangay Batalay, last Oct. 10, 2021 at 10:45 PM after serving on him the warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 43.
A source from the Catanduanes Island Media Club (CIMC) alleged that the suspect us one Ronie Padua Tuviera, who faces four separate charges for rape, acts of lasciviousness (two counts) and violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The four criminal cases carry total recommended bail of P640,000.00.
Bato police chief Capt. Emsol Icawat said that it proved difficult to locate the suspect, who reportedly changed residence several times while evading the law for more than two years.
Tuviera allegedly tried to elude the police during the operation but was caught by police officers who were already positioned at possible escape routes.
Capt. Icawat assured Batonhons that the local police will intensify similar manhunt operations to bring justice to victims of crimes like this.
