Investigators of the Viga Municipal Police Station are trying to trace the owner of an eco-bag that was later found to contain two sachets of dried marijuana.
The report said that two minors came upon the bag along the road in barangay Peñafrancia at about 10:15 PM and subsequently turned it over to the police station.
In an official inventory, the bag contained a Poco cellular phone, an Orashare power bank, a JBC Bluetooth speaker, an iPhone charger, a silver Bigotti watch, a headlamp, various clothing items, toiletries, a black ball cap and two (2) transparent zip-lock plastic sachets containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
The suspected dangerous drug was submitted to the Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) Catanduanes for laboratory examination and chemical analysis.
The Viga MPS is currently conducting a thorough investigation to establish the identity of the bag’s owner.
The Catanduanes Police Provincial Office (CatPPO) reminds the public that the transport and possession of illegal drugs are serious offenses under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
