The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Catanduanes is set to conduct the July 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) – Visit 1 from 09 to 31 July 2025.
This major statistical activity involves 55 Statistical Researchers and 5 Team Supervisors, all of whom underwent extensive training from 01 to 08 July 2025 to ensure accuracy, professionalism, and adherence to data collection standards.
A total of 1,546 sample households across 100 selected barangays in Catanduanes will be visited to gather critical data through confidential face-to-face interviews.
These surveys aim to provide a clear picture of the socio-economic conditions of Filipino households and contribute to evidence-based policy and decision-making.
The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a vital instrument in assessing the current state of the Philippine labor market.
Conducted on a monthly and quarterly basis, the LFS gathers comprehensive data from households nationwide.
This information enables the estimation of key national and regional employment indicators, which are essential for informing policymakers and stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) is a rider survey to the July 2025 and January 2026 rounds of the LFS.
Conducted in two visits, the FIES is the country’s main source of data on family income, sources of income, family expenditure—including cost and consumption volume. These data are used in determining the income distribution, levels of living, spending patterns, and the degree of income inequality among Filipino families.
Furthermore, the information gathered through the FIES serves as a critical input for the development of government policies and programs aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of the Filipino people.
The PSA encourages all selected households to cooperate and provide truthful responses to the interviewers, assuring the public that all collected information will be kept strictly confidential and used only for statistical purposes in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and Republic Act No. 10625.
Through these surveys, PSA Catanduanes reaffirms its commitment to delivering quality statistics for a more informed and progressive nation.
