VISUAL ARTS IN CATANDUANES

VISUAL ARTS IN CATANDUANES has never been vibrant, as demonstrated by excellent works exhibited by local artists, as well as some by invited artists from Metro Manila, during the 4th Arte Isla at the Capitol Lobby during the 9th Abaca Festival. Among the paintings that drew much appreciation from visitors were two from University of the Philippines Diliman’s Dr. Jualim Vela (the two facing the left side) and two big canvasses (the two dark-hued paintings at right) from Godfrey Evasco of San Isidro Village, Virac, priced at more than P50,000 each. The exhibit was staged by the Isla Catanduanes Visual Artists founded by Rence Tatad in 2023 and headed by Wednesday Cilot as president. The other officers are: Jerie Jerusalem, vice president; Yssa Bel Reyes, secretary; Krit Arcilla, treasurer; Jam delos Reyes, auditor; Donna Callos, social media officer; and, Anjhelica Magbanua, Oliver Flores, Susaine Molina, Paul Cajuday, Jualim Vela, Noel Villanueva, Godfrey Evasco, Salvador Bernal Jr., and Jad delos Reyes, members.
