Welder arrested in Virac buy-bust

VIRAC WELDER Jaime Posada Tatel, 40, is arrested by elements of PDEA Catanduanes, Virac MPS and Provincial Intelligence Unit during a buy-bust operation in barangay Lanao last March 23, 2025.

A buy-bust operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) resulted in the arrest of a Virac welder last Sunday afternoon and the confiscation of two sachets believed to contain illegal drugs.

Together with elements of Virac police station and the Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit, the PDEA team headed by Intelligence Officer II Edward Kenn Ampongan made the apprehension at 4:05 PM of March 23, 2025 in barangay Lanao.

Jaime Posada Tatel, 40, with live-in partner, and a resident of the barangay, was collared by the team after handing over a sachet containing white crystalline substance in exchange for P1,000 to an undercover police officer who posed as the buyer.

The contents of the sachet that was the subject of sale, as well as another sachet found in his possession, were estimated to be 0.5 gram and valued at P4,000.00. Also seized was a genuine P1,000 peso bill.

He will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II, of Republic Act 9165 for the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
