Troublemaking tanod hacked in Bagamanoc

A barangay tanod in Bagamanoc who was under the influence of liquor was hacked by a resident apparently disturbed by the disturbance the village peacekeeper created in front of his house.

Bagamanoc police personnel responded to the Sept. 11, 2024 incident more than two hours after it occurred when the severely wounded victim and his wife reported the matter.

The report said Roderick Obang Rojo, 47, a tanod of barangay San Isidro, was under the influence of intoxicating liquor when he caused a disturbance in front of the residence of abaca stripper Willy Pengay Francisco, 58, at 9:30 PM.

A heated argument ensued between the two men, causing Francisco to become enraged and attack the tanod with a bolo, inflicting multiple wounds on his head, arms and body.

Concerned residents brought the victim to the nearest hospital while law enforcers arrested the suspect the confiscated the bolo he used in the incident.
