In a joint operation, four police units apprehended two men, including a native of Cavite province, after one of them sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer last July 6, 2024.
According to the report send by Virac police chief Maj. Emsol Icawat, elements of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU), the Virac police station, Provincial Intelligence Unit and the PNP Maritime Catanduanes handcuffed Raffy Alcantara Valenzuela and Garry Villa Francisco at 10 PM after the poseur-buyer gave the signal to operatives hiding nearby along the road at Purok 3, Valencia.
Valenzuela is reportedly a resident of Valencia while Francisco is allegedly a native of Cavite who is temporarily residing in Danicop.
The team seized from the two men six sachets of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money and other non-drug items, including the for-hire tricycle they used in the transaction.
The two suspects are now detained at the Virac MPS for proper disposition while the seized dangerous drug has been sent to the Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
