440 students receive educational assistance from TGP, DSWD, CHED

More than 400 students from Catanduanes’ 11 towns received financial assistance for their college education last week from the national government through the Talino at Galing ng Pinoy (TGP) partylist group.

Last May 2, 2024, TGP Rep. Jose “Bong” Teves J., together with Virac Mayor Samuel Laynes, Baras Mayor and League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Catanduanes President Jose Paolo Teves III, Virac Councilor Lemuel Surtida and TGP district office chief of staff Lorenzo Templonuevo Jr., joined staffers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in distributing the P3,000 cash as the second semester payout to 390 students enrolled at the Catanduanes State University (CatSU), Christian Polytechnic Institute of Catanduanes (CPIC) and Catanduanes Colleges (CC) under the Tulong Gabay Pang-edukasyon (TGP) Program of the partylist group.

In his brief address to the students, Congressman Teves lauded their dedication to achieving their dreams by finishing their studies.

At the Rakdell Inn, the TGP solon also led the release of P25,000 financial assistance to 50 scholars of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) under a separate program.
