Rotary Club of Virac donates Mobile Clinic to Virac LGU, boosts health care delivery

A PRECIOUS GIFT FROM ROTARY CLUB OF VIRAC and its Korean partners – the Rotary Club of Jinju Seogyeong and the Rotary Club of Jinju East – is turned over to Virac Mayor Samuel V. Laynes by Rotary Club of Virac RY 2022-2023 President Jasmin M. Tuplano and RY 2023-2024 President Maria Cleofe R. Laynes last April 15, 2024.

Enhancing the capital town’s access to health care especially in remote villages, the Rotary Club of Virac has donated a state-of-the-art Mobile Clinic to the local government unit of Virac.

In a turnover ceremony last Friday, April 19, 2024, Mayor Samuel V. Laynes formally accepted the symbolic key to the specially designed vehicle from Rotary Club of Virac President Maria Cleofe R. Laynes and Immediate Past President Jasmin M. Tuplano, after signing a memorandum of agreement.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Elva M. Joson delivered the acceptance message on behalf of the LGU.

Before the handover, the Mobile Clinic received a solemn blessing from Rev. Fr. Raymond Aldave, underscoring the significance of this initiative in serving the community’s healthcare needs.

Dubbed “Genuine Service on Wheels,” the Mobile Clinic is a collaborative global grant project of the Rotary Club of Virac and its partners from Korea – the Rotary Club of Jinju Seogyeong and the Rotary Club of Jinju East.

With a total funding of $30,300, this mobile health facility embodies the spirit of international cooperation for the betterment of healthcare delivery.

The primary objective of the Mobile Clinic is to provide vital support to the medical team of Virac’s Rural Health Unit during medical missions. Likewise, it will facilitate the provision of healthcare services in remote areas where residents often face challenges in accessing essential medical care.

Equipped with advanced medical equipment, the Mobile Clinic and its personnel can conduct patient assessments, administer basic healthcare treatments, perform minor surgeries, and conduct seminars on proper hygiene and fundamental health education. This multifaceted approach ensures that residents in even the most underserved communities receive comprehensive healthcare services.
