A jobless woman was detained last week after she allegedly stabbed the father of the one-year-old boy that she was babysitting in a Virac barangay.
According to the police, fisherman Rodel Ballena Guerrero, 41, heard his young son cry loud while being taken cared of by his niece, Alenie Guerrero, 26, in barangay Calabnigan at about 2:30 PM of Feb. 23, 2024.
Rodel discovered that his son had a pinch mark on his buttocks, prompting him to confront Alenie in a heated argument.
Without any apparent reason, the report said, the suspect took a kitchen knife and stabbed Rodel once on his left abdomen.
The victim was brought by relatives to the Eastern Bicol Medical Center for treatment while Alenie was arrested by responding personnel of the Virac police station who recovered from her a 10-inch kitchen knife.
She was placed in custody pending the filing of appropriate criminal charge against her.
