Personnel from several police units arrested a Viga resident last Saturday in a buy-bust operation that yielded several sachets of shabu.
According to an initial report sent by Viga MPS officer-in-charge Capt. Carlo Lita, joint elements of the town police, Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit, Catanduanes 2nd Police Mobile Force Company and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Catanduanes apprehended Rowel Tomes, a resident of Mabini, during the anti-illegal drug operation past noon of Dec. 9, 2023 at sitio Komon in barangay Ogbong.
Tomes, who is allegedly included in the police data base on illegal drugs, was found to be in possession of five sachets of suspected shabu reportedly weighing about two grams.
The Viga MPS is now preparing to file appropriate charges against the suspect for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
