THE ILL-FATED MOTORCYCLE in the latest in a series of mishaps, most involving drivers under the influence of liquor.

The Virac police station last Sunday called on motorists to maintain their vehicles, drive carefully and refrain from driving while under the influence of liquor after a student was killed when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into an electric post that early morning.

According to the report, Gerald Solero Talion, 19, a resident of Danicop, did not reach the hospital alive after he was apparently thrown from the backseat of the motorcycle he was riding when it hit the post at 3:30 AM of Sept. 18, 2022.

His companion, Gabriel Tolentino, also 19 and driver of the Honda Dio scooter, was seriously injured in the crash that occurred along Cabog street.

Initial investigation showed that the two teeners were negotiating the provincial road near the bridge when Tolentino lost control of the speeding motorcycle and accidentally collided with the power pole.

Personnel of the Virac Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) responded to the accident scene and brought the two victims to the Eastern Bicol Medical Center where Talion was declared dead on arrival.
