Seven residents of Pandan were caught in the act of illegally fishing within the coastal waters of the town last week.
A seaborne patrol of the Pandan police station led by PCpl. Randolph de loa Reyes, under the supervision of officer-in-charge PLt. Jumar Delavin, arrested the suspects while using an air compressor to catch fish off barangay Canlubi at 2:40 PM of March 2, 2022.

Jaymon Orolfo, 25, Rey de Quiroz, 37, Aldrin de Quiroz, 30, Edward Castro, 37, Lester de Quiroz, 20, Juan Barro, 43, and John Clarence Valerio, 19, all residents of Brgy. San Andres, will be charged for violation of Sec. 10 of Provincial Ordinance 2014-008.
Confiscated from them were a green motorized banca, a spear gun, goggles, improvised flappers, compressor tank, compressor engine, motorboat engine, 50 meters of compressor hose, paddle, anchor with rope and other motorized banca parts.
PLt. Delavin appealed to fishermen not to resort to illegal fishing, which he said is dangerous to fishermen and inflicts harm on coral reefs and marine resources.
