Marijuana stash found in man’s eyeglass case

A police operation in San Andres last week led to the arrest of a new player in the illegal drug trade and the seizure of dried marijuana hidden inside an eyeglass case.
The report sent to the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office by San Andres police chief Lt. Francis Tabo I said the operatives, assisted by elements of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), served on the 23-year old suspect at 5 AM of Oct. 30, 2021 the search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court.
A source from the Catanduanes Island Media Club (CIMC) identified the suspect as one Polifer Osorio Santos, also known as “Junjun,” a resident of barangay Timbaan.
In the presence of barangay officials and media witness Janelyn Rima of Padaba FM, the police searcher discovered the dried marijuana hidden inside the glass case.
Last Sunday, Oct. 31, the Police Crime Laboratory Office reported that the chemistry examination of the dried leaves in the eyeglass was positive for marijuana, which had a total weight of 7.892 grams and with a street value of P300.
Santos was detained at the San Andres police station pending the filing of a criminal charge against him for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 for possession of dangerous drugs.
