The Philippine Statistics Authority will conduct the 2021 Updating of Geotagged Building Structures and Geotagging of Economic Areas in municipality of Virac, as the sample municipality for the twin activities.
Ninety one (91) enumeration areas in Virac will be visited by Map Data Collectors from 23 August 2021 to 30 September 2021.
The activity aims to update and develop processed statistical data and geospatial information collected during the conduct of 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH).
PSA Catanduanes said that integrating these updated data to the current Geographical Information System (GIS)-based census maps is paramount to the organization’s goal of technological advancement.
The undertaking also involves the digitization, updating, validation and processing of geo-tagged building structures, CPH boundaries and economic areas. Likewise, it also includes the conduct of filed data collection activities and evaluation of the processed maps.
The authority and mandate of the PSA to conduct the geotagging activities emanates from R.A. 10625.
Like any other surveys undertaken by the PSA, the data to be gathered in the said survey are for statistical purposes only and will be published in summary forms.
Information obtained from the respondents are held STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL and are not used for investigation, taxation and law enforcement purposes and are not be divulged to any person except authorized PSA personnel acting in the performance of their duties.
