Mayor’s kin arrested in anti-drug operation

A jobless relative of a municipal mayor was apprehended by the Virac police station last week after a court-ordered search of his residence in barangay Calatagan Tibang yielded a sachet of suspected illegal drugs.

Officers under the command of police chief Maj. Antonio Perez served the search warrant on Matt Razal Tabligan, 30, who is allegedly considered a high-value target and included in the list of Regional Calibrated Priority Individuals.

The designated searcher found a small plastic sachet containing white granules inside a belt bag in a cabinet in his room.

The police authorities are now readying a criminal charge for filing against him for possession of dangerous drugs.
