A 40-year old widowed man, who is on top of Caramoran’s Most Wanted list for raping his own daughter 18 times last year, has been apprehended in San Andres town.
Operatives of the Caramoran police station served the warrant on Resty Palma Dellava y Palma, a construction worker now residing in barangay Belmonte, San Andres, at 6:50PM of June 7, 2021.
He was earlier arrested and detained after personnel of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) filed charges of acts of lasciviousness against him in November 2020. The report did not state if the respondent posted bail for the case against him.
According to the Catanduanes police, a deeper investigation showed that before the lascivious acts case was filed, Dellava had sexually abused his 19-year old daughter multiple times in the past four months in their residence in barangay Datag East, Caramoran.
Following the filing of charges for rape by the Provincial Prosecution Office, the Regional Trial Court issued the warrant of arrest against him under Criminal Case Nos. 7660 to 7677, with no bail recommended.
He is now detained at the San Andres District Jail while awaiting the hearing of the 18 cases.
Dellava is the latest among wanted persons to be apprehended under the police authorities’ heightened campaign to bring fugitives from justice back to the courts.
The Bicol Regional Police Office under Regional Director BGen. Jonnel Estomo has vowed to intensify its efforts in the Manhunt Charlie campaign.
