A total of 67,531 pupils and students are attending classes this School Year 2026-2027, according to the Department of Education (DepED) Catanduanes Schools Division Office.
Citing data from all 289 schools that submitted enrolment numbers to the SDO, Atty. Norlito Agunday Jr. of the Legal Unit said that the the current enrolment is composed of 34,656 males and 32,875 females.
The reporting schools are composed of 268 public schools, 20 private schools and the Catanduanes State University.
The total 37,265 enrolment across elementary grade levels are as follows: Kindergarten, 4,062; Grade 1, 5,200; Grade 2, 4,785; Grade 3, 5,369; Grade 4, 5,692; Grade 5, 5,892; Grade 6, 5,892; and non-graded, 261.
A total of 21,905 students is in junior high school: Grade 7, 5,576; Grade 8, 5,959; Grade 9, 5,882; Grade 10, 4,482; and non-graded, 6.
There are 4,153 students in Grade 11, with 2,443 enrolled in the Academic Track and 1,710 in the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track, and none in the Sports Track as well in the Arts & Music Track.
In Grade 12, a total of 4,208 is attending classes, with 2,460 of them in the Academic Track, 1,716 in the TVL Track, and 32 in the Arts & Music Track.
Of the total 1,005 out-of-school youths and adults enrolled in the Alternative Learning System (ALS), 192 are in the Basic Literacy Program, 216 in Accreditation & Equivalency Program for the Elementary level, 398 in A&E Secondary, and 199 in A&E Senior High School.
