Officers from different police units apprehended a laborer in Virac last Oct. 8, 2025 in a buy-bust operation along the boulevard.
In a report released recently, the Catanduanes police said the 47-year-old resident of barangay Sta. Cruz was arrested at 6:37 PM after selling a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.
Seized from him as evidence were another sachet containing the dangerous drug, a genuine P500 bill as well as a “boodle” or counterfeit P500 bill.
The operation was conducted by joint elements of the Virac Municipal Police Station, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5 (RPDEU 5), and the Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit led by PCMS Ruel B. Adille, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional office.
A source identified the suspect as one Enriquez Martinez Cavada, who will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 for the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
