A jobless resident of Codon, San Andres was apprehended by the Catanduanes police last Thursday evening in a buy-bust operation conducted by four police units.
Elements of the San Andres police headed by police chief PMaj. Fracis T. Tabo I, together with law enforcers from the Catanduanes Police Intelligence Unit (CATPIU), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the 1st Police Mobile Force Company (PMFC) collared Ryan Floranza Rances, 45, as soon as he handed over the sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu to the police officer masquerading as a drug user.
Seized by the police were the sachet of illegal drug and the genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, with the evidence inventories in the presence of mandatory witnesses: Punong Barangay Rolly A. Valeza of Codon and Larry C. Arcilla of the Department of Justice.
The confiscated evidence has been submitted to the Provincial Forensic Unit at Camp Francisco Camacho where it underwent laboratory examination.
A criminal case for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), has been prepared for filing against the suspect.
The operation highlights the determination of San Andres MPS’ heightened campaign against the scourge of illegal drugs, with PMaj. Tabo calling on the public to join them for a safer and drug-free community.
