Police arrest two persons wanted for illegal gambing

Police personnel in Baras and Virac apprehended two individuals last week in connection with an illegal gambling case filed against them before the Municipal Trial Court.

Arce Tusi, 27, a jobless resident of Agban, was arrested in Palawig, San Andres at 11:30 PM of Aug. 14, 2025 by joint elements of the 1st Catanduanes Provincial Mobile Force Company led by PLt. Katherine Guiriba together with law enforcers of the San Andres police station.

The following day in Calatagan, Virac, at 2 AM, members of the Gigmoto MPS and the Catanduanes 1st PMFC collared Mansueta Pasis Tusi, 58, a businesswoman from Bislig, San Andres.

Both apprehensions were covered by a warrant of arrest issued by MTC Baras-Gigmoto Presiding Judge Carlo Martin Abion Adille in connection with Criminal Case No. 1799 for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, with bail recommended at P10,000 each.

In another development, an abandoned motorcycle was found last Wednesday night at barangay Hawan Ilaya in Virac.

PMSg. Ryan Aldwin Panti of the Virac MPS received the report on the recovered motorcycle at 9:32 PM of Aug. 13, with law enforcers immediately proceeding to the area to conduct an investigation.

At the scene, Punong Barangay Wilfredo Panti turned over the red-green Euro motorcycle with plate number EA54282 to the responding police personnel.
