Four hurt in tricycle crash in Bato

An accident in Cabugao, Bato involving a tricycle sent four persons, including a senior citizen, to the hospital last Monday noon, the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office reported.

The police identified the victims as tricycle driver Rommel delos Reyes Temana, 51, of Batalay; his passengers, Bote barangay councilor Perlita Balecan Tito, 56; carpenter Cesar Evangelista Tumpang, 63, of Guinobatan; and pedestrian Christine Rodulfo Tañon, 16, a Grade 11 student of Cabugao Integrated School and a resident of Purok 3, San Jose St., Cabugao.

The incident occurred at 12 PM of Aug. 4, 2025, while Temana was driving the tricycle with the two passengers on board from Virac to Bato.

Upon reaching Cabugao, he accidentally hit Tañon while she was crossing the national road.

As a result, the tricycle crashed and overturned, causing injuries to all involved and resulting in their confinement at the Bato Maternity and Children’s Hospital.
