Three residents of Caramoran were apprehended by the police early Monday morning after it caught them transporting undocumented lumber in separate incidents.
First to fall were Avelino Papango Francisco, 51, and Ariel dela Vergo Francisco, 25, both abaca strippers from barangay Sabloyon.
Personnel of the Caramoran police led by PCpl. Angeles Ronda Jr. caught the duo in the act of hauling 10 pieces of 2x6x7 and two pieces of 3x3x6 narra lumber at 4:30 AM of Aug. 4, 2025 at sitio Otsenta.
The police confiscated the hot lumber, with an estimated volume of 79 board feet and market value of P3,555 as well as the Yamaha RS100 topdown tricycle that the suspects were using.
Twenty minutes later, joint elements of the Caramoran police led by PMsg. Ryan Bien and the Catanduanes 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, 3rd Maneuver Platoon, nabbed Frederick Sapico Castro, 45, a farmer from Datag West, while transporting 41 pieces of 2x3x12 “nato” lumber on board a Rusi Macho TC-150 topdown tricycle at 4:50 AM in Sabloyon.
The undocumented lumber, with a volume of 240 board feet and market value of P7,200, and the motorcycle were seized as evidence.
