Two allies of Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza took two key committee chairmanships in the recent assignment of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s standing committee for the next three years.
Provincial Board Members Giovanni A. Balmadrid and Arnel B. Turado, who joined the former university president during the campaign, will head the Committee on Appropriations, Finance and Budget, and the Committee on Infrastructure, respectively.
Two other committees were reportedly eyed by the Capitol leadership: the Committee on Land Use Conversion, Zoning and Reclassification that went to PBM Xyrell T. Albaniel, and the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources which will be chaired by PBM Dean Roberto T. Vergara.
Although the two PBMs ran in the slate of the majority during the campaign, there are reports that some of the PBMs have already agreed to cooperate with the Capitol leadership.
