Recidivist drug pusher nabbed in buy-bust op

A native of Virac who was once arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation was apprehended anew when he tried to sell the contraband to an undercover police officer last week.

According to the report, joint elements of the Virac municipal police station, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU), Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit (CATPIU) and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) apprehended the 37-year-old suspect identified only as “Bombay” at 9:50 PM of June 13, 2025 at barangay Danicop,

A source with knowledge of the operation identified the suspect as one Omar Werner Teope Jandilon, a resident of the barangay, who yielded three (3) small plastic sachets containing the dangerous drug.

He will be charged with violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which penalizes anyone who sells or trades any dangerous drugs with life imprisonment and a fine of at least P500,000.00.

The police has yet to disclose the weight and value of the methamphetamine hydrochloride of shabu seized as evidence during the operation.

“The success of this operation is attributed to the cooperation between the police and the community. We will continue to push the campaign against illegal drugs to ensure peace and order in the capital town,” Virac police chief Lt. Col.Louie Manuel D. de la Peña stated.
