Led by the Philippine Statistics Authority, all agencies in the government, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, and the private sector at the national and subnational levels are celebrating this October 2024 the 35th National Statistics Month.
This is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 issued on 20 September 1990 by then President Corazon C, Aquino, “Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month.”
This year’s celebration will have the theme “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.”
The celebration aims to promote, enhance and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society and to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
The theme highlights the efforts in modernizing the statistical system through the adoption of digital tools and platforms to improve the accuracy, timeliness and accessibility of statistics, ultimately empowering decision and policy-makers, and other stakeholders with valuable insights for informed decision-making and policy formulation which are geared towards national economic and social development.
In line with this, PSA Catanduanes Provincia; Statistical Office has scheduled the following activities in line with the celebration: display of streamer in-front of the office premise; display of exhibit with updated Statistics; conduct of Radio Program; launching of 2024 Countryside in Figures; conduct of Statistics Quiz; and posting of social cards on different statistics in the province on official FB Page of PSA Catanduanes. Likewise, other agencies are also encouraged to display streamers and conduct other activities in relation to the conduct of 35th National Statistics Month.
