No sign of foul play or struggle was observed on the body of a 58-year-old Bato resident found along the river in Siay, San Miguel last Saturday morning, July 27, 2024.
According to the report of the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office, personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of San Miguel informed the police of the body seen at the river at Sitio Paorog in Siay at 9 AM that day.
Initial investigation conducted by San Miguel police led by PSSg Antonio Abines III disclosed that the body was that of Eduardo Camacho Timajo, separated and a resident of Tamburan, Bato.
The man’s sister, Rosmarie Timajo Torzar, told the police that Eduardo left their residence on July 25 at around 9:30 AM to visit his family in Siay.
The next day, her brother did not return home, prompting her to go to Siay to check on him but he was not there.
Eduardo’s daughter, Maribeth, said that he visited them at around 9:30 AM of July 25 but he left at noon. A resident of Siay, Roadryd Geromo Bracos, claimed to have seen Timajo walking towards the river.
At the river bank near Siay, the police found a black jacket, two pieces brief and a pair of blue slippers which Maribeth said belonged to her father.
It was disclosed that Eduardo was medically unstable and had a healed wound on the forehead as a result of a hypertension attach a week earlier.
The cadaver was brought to Gateway Heavens Funeral Home at Sipi, Bato, with the victim’s family requesting a postmortem examination to determine the cause of his death.
