In the limited period of two weeks, Virac-based micro and small enterprise exhibitors at the 11th Summer Barakalan Tourism and Trade Fair generated a total of ₱529,389.00 in cumulative sales, once again reflected the success and vibrancy of the LGU’s annual summer trade fair.
Based on the report of sales presented to Mayor Samuel V. Laynes by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Catanduanes Provincial Office, Ready-to-wear Shops (RTWS) booths sold ₱41,640.00 worth of goods during the fair.
The fair also celebrated creativity and innovation with the announcement of the Best Dressed Booth awards by the Municipal Tourism and Promotions Office, recognizing the booths that stood out in the festive atmosphere and showcased their ingenuity and flair for design.
Abaca Bacbac of the Coribato Abaca Farmers Association (CORAFAS) based at Dugui Too clinched the top spot, with Ms. Arlene Cabrera accepting the accolade.
Second place went to Bugkos Artisan owned by Jeremiah Arevalo for the craftsmanship and vision of its creator while the third sport was claimed by the Catanduanes Muslimah Organization, adding a touch of cultural richness to the event’s ambiance.
The fair served as a platform for 44 micro and small enterprises to showcase their offerings, contributing to the local economy and fostering entrepreneurship.
Held at Plaza Rizal from March 22 to April 4, the 11th Summer Barakalan Trade, Tourism Fair, and Night Bazaar once again highlighted the spirit of community, commerce, and creativity of local entrepreneurs in the municipality.
