This February, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Catanduanes is celebrating the 34th Civil Registration Month, with the theme “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services” underscoring the agency’s steadfast commitment to promoting efficient Civil Registration and Vital Statistics services.
As per Proclamation No. 682 signed by former Pres. Corazon C. Aquino on Jan. 28 1991, the celebration aims to spotlight the indispensable role of civil registration in the society.
Throughout February 2024, PSA Catanduanes will embark on a dynamic series of activities and initiatives to highlight the crucial role that accurate and timely registration plays in facilitating essential services like healthcare, education, social protection, and legal recognition.
The month-long celebration kicked off last Friday, Feb. 2, with a motorcade in collaboration with the Municipal Civil Registry Office-Virac, symbolizing unity and commitment to advancing civil registration.
Key activities include mobile registration services across the province will also be conducted which aims to bring civil registration services closer to the community, making it convenient for residents to participate.
Local Civil Registration Office personnel, featuring MCR Aster Crispino, MCR Julia Vicente, and Asst. RO Eden Clemente, showcased their expertise in the LCRO Quiz at the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office-V last Feb. 6.
A Refresher Course on the Decentralized Copy Annotation Process (DeCAP) is scheduled for Feb. 8, aimed at enhancing the skills of LCRO Personnel and MCRs in handling civil registration documents.
On Feb. 15, PSA Catanduanes will host a comprehensive training session focused on the accomplishment of Civil Registry Documents.
Participants, including MCRs, health/hospital personnel, and parish/church secretaries, will undergo the training to elevate their understanding and skills, contributing to the overall efficiency of the civil registration process.
An Inter-Agency Meeting on Feb. 16 will bring together various local government agencies to discuss collaborative efforts in advancing civil registration systems and services within PSA Catanduanes.
Beyond these undertakings, PSA Catanduanes is set to implement comprehensive information dissemination campaigns all throughout the month.
This aims to guarantee that the community is not only aware but well-versed in the importance of precise and timely registration.
The Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) will generously provide free copies of local documents, such as birth and marriage certificates, by the end of February.
