Virac man hacked by drunk const’n worker

A construction worker who went on a drinking spree got more than a hangover when he landed in jail for hacking a garbage collector in Virac last week.

The report stated that the victim, Michael Naon Lucero, 32, tried to pacify the suspect, Gerald Tabo Zafe, 27, who was drunk and creating trouble.

The heated confrontation between the two men escalated until Tabo got a bolo and hacked Lucero on the right arm and fingers.

The victim was rushed to the Eastern Medical Center for immediate medical attention while responding police personnel led by Cpl Bobby Tribiana arrested the suspect for detention at the station.
