THE VIRACNON NEW TESTAMENT BIBLE is now available to the public following its launching last June 20, 2022 at the CatSU Auditorium with Philippine Bible Society vice chairman and vice president Rev. Fr. Arlo Bernando Yap and general secretary Victoria Esperanza Cartera joining Roman Catholic Bishop Manolo delos Santos and Catanduanes for Jesus Movement chairman Pastor Danilo Lucero in the half-day event that began with a motorcade. Also present during the program were CJM vice chairman Pastor Melchor Suarez, Bible Christian Baptist Church Pastor Franklin Arcilla, Viracnon New Testament reviewer Sarah Mirandilla, PBS translation consultant Rev. Rhoneil Arevalo, and representatives of Church groups, organizations, and provincial leaders. Started in 2019, the PBS’ goal of producing a New Testament version written in the unique Viracnon tongue was delayed by the pandemic. But the Translation Team of Ma. Megan Dy, Xandra Kaye Vargas, Deborah Anna Solo and Abegail Jose persevered and completed the monumental task after undergoing review by PBS translation experts and consultants. At just over 700 pages, the Virac New Testament Bible is now available for sale in both Catholic and non-Catholic versions at a launching price of P120 until July 31, 2022 and will cost P175 starting the next month. Those interested in reading the Mayad na Balita in the native tongue of Virac may contact Nora G. Lucero through Messenger or cellphone number 0917-8853103.
