A 40-year-old unemployed man yielded 10 grams of shabu in a buy-bust operation that went down inside a boarding house in Virac last week.
According to the report, joint elements of the Virac police station led by Lt. Arnee Julius Dedase, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Catanduanes, Catanduanes Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 5 (RPDEU) mounted the operation against the target it identified only as “Tonton”, single and a resident of Gogon Sirangan at about 2:27 PM of May 19, 2022.
A reliable source identified the suspect as Ronald Magtangob Tolentino, who was nabbed as he sold a sachet of shabu for P500 to an undercover lawman inside the Tobornal boarding house along Moonwalk in Calatagan Proper.
A search of the suspect yielded another six sachets of shabu, which together with the subject of sale was estimated to be worth P68,000.
Charges of possession and sale of illegal drugs in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2003 were being prepared for filing against Tolentino as of presstime.
Following the successful operation, the Virac police station called on users and pushers of illegal drugs to cease their bad habits and urged the public to monitor their surroundings and inform authorities in aid of the anti-illegal drug campaign.
